Balboa Island Parade- CERT and RACES volunteers needed

TIME: Check-in between 9:30-10:00 AM, on the sidewalk directly across from the Pavilions on Bayside Drive, parade runs from- 11:00 AM-2:00 PM
The Newport Beach CERT and RACES volunteer teams have a joint entry in the annual Balboa Island parade. This is the second year the CERT/RACES teams have participated and this is a great opportunity to highlight both programs to the Newport Beach community. CERT volunteers are needed to march in the parade and to staff the CERT information booth outside the Balboa Island Fire Station. If you would like to assist at the Balboa Island parade, email nbcert@nbfd.net or call (949) 644-3112, please specify if you would like to walk in the parade or staff the CERT booth and your availability times. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring their friends, family, and neighbors to enjoy the parade.
CERT Organizational Day

CERT volunteers are needed to assist with logistics for the summer 2010 CERT class. Volunteers are needed to assist with a complete overhaul of the tuffshed and getting class notebooks ready. 5-10 CERT volunteers are needed. Summer 2010 CERT class
The 2010 Summer CERT class will be held over two weeks in July. The summer 2010 CERT class will be held on Tuesday, July 6th, Wednesday, July 7th, Thursday, July 8th, Monday, July 12th, Tuesday, July 13th, Wednesday, July 14th and Thursday, July 15th. All classes are from 6:00-9:00 PM at San ana Heights Fire Station #7. Participants must attend all seven classes. The complete program schedule is available on the City of Newport Beach web-site at the following link. To register for the class, download a program application and mail it to the address listed. Newport Beach CERT classes are free of charge to residents and $40 for nonresidents. Space is limited in the summer 2010 CERT class and all participants must complete a program application to enroll.
CERT Volunteer Hours Portal
The new web-based CERT volunteer hours portal is up and running. All CERT volunteers are encouraged to log-in and record all their CERT volunteer hours for 2010. For more information on the web-portal and how to log your CERT volunteer hours email nbcert@nbfd.net.
