Test Proctoring Services

The Newport Beach Public Library now offers test proctoring services to students who need to take exams for distance learning, correspondence, or other courses which require a proctor. Online computer tests and written examinations are administered in a quiet study area at the Corona Del Mar Branch Library.

According to Branch Librarian, Andrea Jason, numerous requests for test proctoring prompted the Library to offer the new service. Students interested in using the service should initiate the proctor request with his/her school/testing center and provide all pertinent proctoring information from the school/testing center to the Newport Beach Public Library. If there is a requirement from the school/testing center the Library cannot satisfy, the Library will not provide the service.

After student's school/testing center grants the library approval for proctoring and sends the library the written exam materials or password for online tests, the student can make an appointment with Reference Services for proctoring.

The Test Proctor fee is $25.00 per hour. Patrons submit payment at the time of the test by cash, credit card or check only, payable to the City of Newport Beach.

Interested students should send their requests to: testproctoring@newportbeachca.gov. For more information on proctoring or other services at the Newport Beach Public Library, please call (949) 717-3800, option 2 or visit the website at www.newportbeachlibrary.org.
