Officials from the City of Newport Beach, the County of Orange, the Irvine Company and State Assembly celebrated the grand opening of Newport Harbor’s largest public dock on Friday, March 29.
Witte Hall, a new state-of-the-art lecture hall, is under way. The construction has temporarily disrupted parking in the main lot of the Central Library with limited spaces available and additional parking located in the Civic Center parking structure.
The City invites the community to provide comments and feedback on these documents. The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing regarding the proposed amendments on April 18, 2024. You may attend and provide testimony at this hearing or submit written comments to GPupdate@newportbeachca.gov.

Officials from the City of Newport Beach and the Newport Beach Public Library Foundation hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, February 27 to kick off construction of a new lecture hall adjacent to the Central Library at 1000 Avocado Ave.
The 46-day public comment period on the Draft Program Environmental Impact Report will run from February 12, 2024 to March 28, 2024. Visit www.newportbeachca.gov/CEQA to view the document.
The partial closure will be in place through early 2026 for construction of a new auditorium.
