Approved – August 1, 2007   The Planning Director approved Royal Street Communications, LLC (dba Metro PCS) request to install a new wireless telecommunication facility on an existing high-rise office building. The property is located in the PC (Newport Place Planned Community) District.

Item 2:             T-Mobile – Telecom Permit No. TP2007-005 (PA2007-090)

4440 Von Karman Avenue

 

Approved – August 1, 2007   The Planning Director approved T-Mobile’s request to establish a new roof-mounted wireless telecommunications facility located on the Koll Birch Building at 4440 Von Karman Avenue. The property is located in the PC (Koll Center Planned Community) District.

Item 3:             Royal Street Communications, LLC (dba Metro PCS) – Telecom Permit No. TP2007-007 (PA2007-119)

2503 Eastbluff Drive

 

Approved – August 1, 2007   The Planning Director approved Royal Street Communications, LLC (dba Metro PCS) request to install a new wireless telecommunication facility on the roof of an existing commercial building. Also the equipment cabinets and associated electrical, telephone, and conduit cabinets will be installed on the ground level behind the building and concealed from public view within a secured wood fence. The property is located in the RSC District.

Item 4:             Staff Approval – SA2007-007 (PA2007-136)

20342 Acacia Street

 

Approved – August 1, 2007   The Planning Director determined the use classification for a proposed mail-order pharmaceutical facility. It was determined that the use classification for the proposed facility was not a retail use but that the proposed use is more consistent with a general office use as authorized by Use Permit No. 2003-025. The property is located in the SP-7 (BP District of the Santa Ana Heights Specific Plan Area) District.

Item 5:             Let’s Roll, Inc. – Planning Director’s Use Permit No. UP2006-028
(PA2006-227)

20061 Birch Street

 

Approved – August 2, 2007   The Planning Director approved a Temporary Use Permit to allow the establishment of a limousine rental facility in an existing commercial building. The project includes the provision of on-site parking for the storage of three limousines and remodel of the building to provide associated office space for employees. This Use Permit is valid for a period not to exceed five (5) years from the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy issued by the Building Department or final of building permits for changes to the building. The property is located in the SP-7 (East Santa Ana Heights Specific Plan) District.

Item 6:             Southwest Sign Company – Comprehensive Sign Program No. CS2007-001
(PA2007-078)

2501, 2505-2555 Eastbluff Drive

 

Approved – August 2, 2007   The Zoning Administrator approved the Comprehensive Sign Program application for an existing commercial shopping center in accordance with the provisions of Section 20.67.030 (Sign Code) of the Newport Beach Municipal Code. The program includes new and existing freestanding monument signs located on the Eastbluff Drive, Vista Del Sol and parking lot frontages. The property is located in the RSC (Retail and Service Commercial) District.

APPEAL:

For Items 1, 2 and 3, the applicant may appeal any denial of the application or any conditions of approval to the City Council within 14 days of the date of written notification of action by the Planning Director. The City Council’s action on appeals shall be final. Any appeal filed shall be accompanied by a filing fee of $340.00.

 

For Items 4, 5, and 6, the decision of the Planning Director or Zoning Administrator may be appealed by the applicant or any interested party to the Planning Commission within 14 days of the decision date. Any appeal filed shall be accompanied by a filing fee of $600.00.
