Notice of Funding Availability - Deadline 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2025

The City of Newport Beach anticipates receiving approximately $375,000 in federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for fiscal year 2025-2026, which starts July 1, 2025, and ends June 30, 2026. The Community Development Department of the City of Newport Beach is currently accepting applications from non-profit organizations seeking to provide CDBG eligible public services generally described below and fair housing services. Federal regulations limit funding for multiple public service agencies to fifteen percent of total grant funding (approximately $56,250). Priority for funding will be given to organizations that demonstrate the capacity to implement the program in accordance with the requirements established by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and whose services will help revitalize neighborhoods, promote economic development, and improve community facilities and services in Newport Beach. Additional information about the City’s prior years’ strategic plans and performance reports are available for viewing online at http://www.newportbeachca.gov/CDBGreports.

ELIGIBLE PUBLIC SERVICES: Applications must demonstrate that the services to be provided will principally benefit persons of low- and moderate-income (households earning less than 80% of Orange County’s median income). Types of eligible services include but are not limited to housing and/or support programs for victims of domestic violence, abused children/youth, the disabled, seniors, or the homeless. Additionally, programs addressing unemployment, inadequate healthcare, crime prevention, or substance abuse rehabilitation are eligible. Again, all programs must benefit persons of low-and moderate-incomes.

FAIR HOUSING AND LANDLORD-TENANT SERVICES: Applications will also be accepted from organizations seeking to provide fair housing and landlord-tenant services in accordance with the requirements of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Fair housing and landlord-tenant services will be paid from the City’s CDBG Administration funds and not from funds allocated to public services.

DEADLINE: Completed applications will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the City of Newport Beach, Community Development Department located at 100 Civic Center Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92660.

APPLICATION MATERIALS: All interested service providers must complete an application package. Please download the application and application instructions below.
