The Southern California Association of Government (SCAG) is engaging stakeholders for feedback on the 6th Cycle Regional Housing Needs Assessment (RHNA), which for Newport Beach, resulted in an allocation of 4,845 new housing units during the 2021-2029 planning period. The feedback will help inform SCAG’s recommendations, which will eventually be shared with the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). HCD will consider the recommendations when making a report to the State Legislature on RHNA reform, as required by Assembly Bill 101.
As part of this effort, SCAG has published a survey that is open and available to all who are interested in participating with a deadline of June 30, 2023.
The City provided a response to the survey, which is available for viewing by clicking here. To access and take SCAG’s survey, click here.
