The City of Newport Beach is sponsoring a seminar for those looking to learn more about buckling-restrained braced frames, a relatively new type of seismic-force-resisting system. The seminar is on Tuesday, June 19 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (check in begins at noon) in the Civic Center Community Room located at 100 Civic Center Drive.
Rafael Sabelli, S.E., a principal and director of seismic design at Walter P. Moore, will be the instructor. The seminar is free and participants will earn 0.40 ICC preferred provider CEUs for attending.
