Purpose:
The Finance Committee is responsible for fiscal governance, and reviews and monitors events and issues which may affect the financial status of the City.
Committee Authorization:
Established by Resolution No. 94-110 by Resolution No. 2017-58 and by Resolution No. 2018-71. Last amended by Resolution No. 2026-18.
The City’s budget documents can be found at newportbeachca.gov/budget.
Frequency of Meetings:
Meetings shall be held as required by the business needs of the Finance Committee on weeknights or weekdays (Monday - Thursday) at a time that is convenient for the Finance Committee and the public.

Staff allocates approximately 20 hours per month to this committee. (It should be noted that the majority of the materials and reports provided to the Finance Committee are typical financial reports that would need to be produced and reviewed regardless of the Finance Committee’s existence.)
