Attention Short-Term Lodging Owners: SB 1383 Waste Compliance Required

As a Short-Term Lodging Owner, you are required to comply with Senate Bill 1383, which mandates the use of three separate waste streams on-site:

    • Trash

    • Recycling

    • Organics (food and green waste)

Code Enforcement is actively inspecting properties for compliance, including performing lid lifts to check for proper sorting.

    What This Means for You:

If your guests fail to properly separate their waste, you may be issued a citation, with fines starting at $1,000 per violation.

To help ensure compliance, please print and post the flyer below:

    • In a highly visible area inside the rental, such as the kitchen

    • Near the trash bin storage area

Clear signage helps educate guests and can reduce the risk of violations.
