The Balboa Yacht Basin is a City of Newport Beach Marina managed by Basin Marine. The facility provides 172 slips for vessels ranging from 31 to 75 feet in length. For rules and regulations, click here.
Slip rates are calculated at the appropriate rate times the vessel length or slip length, whichever is greater. Slips are exclusively available on a monthly basis. Slip rates are adjusted annually in the summer. FY25 slip rates will be adjusted on July 1, 2024.
Slip sizes in the marina are 31', 32', 34', 35', 37', 40', 45', 50', 60' and 75'.
As required by Resolution 2010-134, the current Newport Harbor Marina Index for valuing Balboa Yacht Basin slips and side ties include the following marinas:
- Bayside Village Marina
- Lido Yacht Anchorage
- Newport Dunes Marina
- Newport Marina (formerly Swales Marina)
- Port Calypso
- 28th Street Marina* (added 2019)
*The City has discretion to adjust and substitute the marinas within the index, provided that the substitute marinas are considered low or moderately-priced marinas in Newport Harbor. City staff is directed to monitor activities at the Balboa Yacht Basin to ensure that this Resolution's fee increases appropriately reflect market conditions.
