Sunday Musicale

Dalí Ensemble L.A.

Dali Ensemble, Catherine Del Russo, oboist, Kevan Torfeh, cello and Kristin Fife, violin

The Dalí Ensemble L.A. was formed in 2017 by three musicians, Catherine Del Russo, oboist, Kirstin Fife, violinist, and Kevan Torfeh, cellist. The original premise of the Dali Ensemble L.A., was to perform music that depicts a rainbow of the history of western music from the Renaissance Period to the 21st Century. Within that process, our violinist, Kirstin Fife, composer and arranger, was influenced and inspired by the Spanish Surrealist artist, Salvatore Dalí. She decided to compose a piece with the same title as “The Persistence of Memory,” by Dalí. After researching more about the artist, the ensemble became interested in other art and music with a Spanish and Latin flavor.  Ms. Fife began arranging waltzes and tangos, written by Spanish and Latin composers. The Dalí Ensemble L.A. strives to present recitals that are educational, diverse, and entertaining, locally and beyond.

Sunday Musicale is presented by the Friends of the Newport Beach Library.
