Don Quixote for Kids

Saturday, March 25, 12 p.m., Civic Center Green

Join the gallant Don Quixote on his knightly quests across old-world Spain in Festival Ballet Theatre’s shortened rendition of this beloved ballet, based on the novel by Miguel Cervantes.

The Don Quixote ballet is an adventurous introduction to Spanish literature, music, culture, and history. Bring a picnic and your beach chairs for this special spring event. No alcohol is permitted. Parking and admission are free. This outdoor performance is supported by the City Arts Commission and will be held on the Civic Green.

Meet the artist and learn about her photographic technique

For the more than 30 years, photography has been the primary creative expression for artist Diana Blaisure. When preparing for retirement from city planning, she made a list of what she wanted to accomplish in this new phase of her life and, topping the list, was to formally study photography. In 2011, Blaisure began taking classes at Orange Coast College, in their highly regarded photography program.

Diana Blaisure will be at the Newport Beach Public Library for a meet and greet and to discuss her current exhibition, Bridges.
