West Santa Ana Heights Annexation
Newport Beach welcomed the West Santa Ana Heights neighborhood to our city of neighborhoods on January 1, 2008.
The City of Newport Beach's annexation of West Santa Ana Heights was approved by the Orange County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) on September 12, 2007. The annexation took effect on January 1, 2008. At that time, residents within the mapped area became residents of Newport Beach and will receive City services like police, fire, emergency medical, library, parks and recreation, senior services, and community development.
Please note that annexations do not necessarily affect school district boundaries, area codes, water and sewer district boundaries -- only traditional municipal services like those listed previously. However, effective July 6, 2009, the U.S. Postal Service changed the zip code for this area to 92660.
If you have additional questions about the Newport Beach annexation of West Santa Ana Heights, please e-mail City Manager Dave Kiff dkiff@city.newport-beach.ca.us.
