What is CERT?
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a nationally recognized program that trains community members in disaster preparedness and emergency response. The Newport Beach CERT program, supported by the Newport Beach Fire Department, empowers residents to take an active role in protecting themselves, their families, and their neighborhoods during emergencies.
Whether it’s wildfires, earthquakes, power outages, or large-scale incidents, CERT volunteers are trained to assist when first responders are delayed or overwhelmed. Our mission is simple: prepare, respond, recover, and support.
