The Orange County Sheriff's Department Harbor Patrol-Marine Operations Bureau (Harbor Patrol) manages the emergency and law enforcement services of Newport Harbor. Its mission is to provide a safe environment for residents and visitors alike. The deputies assigned to Newport Harbor work every day to protect and serve all that use the harbor and inshore coastal waters. Harbor Patrol Officers are available should you encounter any type of emergency day or night.

The Harbor Patrol Headquarters is located at:

  • 1901 Bayside Drive, Corona del Mar, 92625
  • 33.6028476,-117.884997,483.

You can contact the Harbor Patrol for emergency harbor-related situations on Channel 16 or by calling 949-723-1002.

Non-emergency calls may be referred to the Harbormaster or the City's Lifeguards at 949-644-3611.

The Environmental Protection Agency has designated Newport Harbor as a no discharge harbor. Vessels with sanitation devices connected to a thru-hull fitting must have a shut-off valve in place to prevent overboard discharge. There are 10 holding tank pump-out stations located throughout the harbor and mobile pump-out services are available.

The Harbor Patrol Officers remind all harbor users to observe the harbor's no wake rule for everyone's safety.
