Don Quixote for Kids

Saturday, March 25, 12 p.m., Civic Center Green

Join the gallant Don Quixote on his knightly quests across old-world Spain in Festival Ballet Theatre’s shortened rendition of this beloved ballet, based on the novel by Miguel Cervantes.

The Don Quixote ballet is an adventurous introduction to Spanish literature, music, culture, and history. Bring a picnic and your beach chairs for this special spring event. No alcohol is permitted. Parking and admission are free. This outdoor performance is supported by the City Arts Commission and will be held on the Civic Green.

The City of Newport Beach maintains exhibit space at the Central Library, 1000 Avocado Avenue. The Library was completed in 1994 and now averages 3,000 daily visitors.

The Lobby Gallery in the Central Library has approximately 38 feet of linear wall space designed for two-dimensional pieces of art. Additionally, two display cabinets were added to the lobby of Central Library in 2010. Artists may now apply to exhibit three-dimensional works for this exhibition space. The display cases are approximately 24” high x 24” deep x 24” wide

All gallery spaces are administered by the Library Services Manager. The City Arts Commission’s Fine Arts Committee meets periodically to review artist's submissions; and artists will be notified by mail of acceptance. Art exhibitions are scheduled for at least one year in advance for all exhibit locations. Regional artists are encouraged to submit exhibition proposals. Upon acceptance, exhibiting artists must agree to the conditions and requirements detailed in the City Policy 1-11.
