To encourage public awareness of the Sculpture Exhibition in Civic Center Park, the City Arts Commission recently sponsored a photography contest. Visitors to the sculpture garden were asked to submit photographs of the works on display, and/or photographs depicting interaction with the sculptures. Winners were announced at the March 11, 2021 City Arts Commission meeting.

2018 Photo Contest Winners

The Newport Beach City Arts Commission is pleased to recognize the following individuals for their outstanding entries in the 2018 Sculpture Photo contest. The winners were selected for the best representation of the following three categories:

The Sculpture Photo Contest photography contest was designed to encourage public awareness of the new sculptures in Civic Center Park.  The winning entries were selected from over 200 photographs that were submitted showing one or more of the sculptures on display in the Sculpture in Civic Center Park Exhibition, Phase III. According to contest committee chair, Commissioner Barbara Glabman, “Selecting winners was a difficult task.  We appreciated the participation by so many talented individuals of all ages and we were impressed by the diversity of style and originality in the submissions.”

Prizes included gift certificates donated by local restaurants Modo Mio Rustic Italian Kitchen, Bluewater Grill, and Bistango, and were awarded at the June 14, 2018 City Arts Commission meeting.
