The boundary for Assessment District No. 87 is the areas generally bounded by:

• Bay Front North and South; and
• Balboa Island West of Collins Isle and East of Grand Canal

On October 29, 2008, Southern California Edison (SCE) held a pre-bid meeting at its Santa Ana Service Center and distributed Request for Proposals to the contractors in attendance. SCE staff went over the scope of work, answered questions, and requested to have bid submitted no later than December 12, 2008.

Should the underground district pass with a majority vote, the City will move forward with the Balboa Island Water Replacement and Sewer Improvement project tentatively scheduled for construction in summer 2009. After the completion of undergrounding and the water and sewer improvement construction the alleys and select roadways will be rehabilitated.
