GENERAL REFUND & TRANSFER POLICY

Unless otherwise noted, no refunds after the commencement of the second class or camp. Refunds for workshops and one or two day classes will be granted if requested five business days before class begins. Refund fees are assessed per person per activity, not per transaction. There is a non-refundable $5 administrative fee per activity. Please call 949-644-3151 for any questions.

PROGRAM CANCELLATION:

  • A full refund will be issued when classes are cancelled by the instructor or by the Recreation & Senior Services Department.

CONTRACT PROGRAMS (Camps/Classes):

  • $10 refund fee for activities $74 and under before camp begins.
  • $20 refund fee for camps $75 and above before camp begins.
  • If request is made before the second day of camp or class a refund fee equivalent to a single day will be charged unless otherwise noted.
  • NO refunds after commencement of second day of camp or class.
  • NO refunds issued for events, excursions, or material fees.

FOR CAMP NEWPORT EARLY BIRD DISCOUNTS:

  • Transfers between different weeks of the same camp will honor the Early Bird Discount after the deadline has passed. (Must be the same camp led by the same Contract Instructor)
  • Any other transfers requested after the Early Bird Discount deadline will not reflect a discount.

LATE REGISTRATION

  • Registration fees are not prorated.
  • Late registrations are not eligible for refunds if requested after the second scheduled class date (not second day attended).

REFUND PROCESSING TIME BY PAYMENT TYPE

  • Check/Cash - Refunds issued within 3-4 weeks mailed by check. If requesting a refund and initial payment was made by check, either a front and back copy of that check or a bank statement showing the cleared check must be faxed (949-644-3155) or mailed to the Recreation & Senior Services Department before a refund can be processed. 
  • Credit Card - Refunds processed within 3-5 days. 

Exceptions for City Staffed Programs

FOR CITY OPERATED SUMMER DAY CAMPS (Including Pint-Size Campers)

  • No transfers will be allowed with 6 days or less.
  • $25 per camp administration fee will apply with 7 days or more notice. (Monday and before before the class date).
  • $50 per camp administration fee will apply with 6 days or less notice. (Tuesday and later before the week before class date).
  • NO REFUNDS will be issued once the registered camp session has begun.

ACTIVE KIDS AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM

  • No refunds will be issued once the program has begun.

FOR EVENTS/EXCURSIONS

  • No refunds.

LATE PICK-UP FEE POLICY

There will be a $1 per minute per child charge for pick-ups occurring after the advertised class ending time. Your late fee will be charged at the Recreation Front Desk using a credit card you have on file or you will be contacted for payment. When picking your child up, you will be asked to sign a Late Pick-Up Log.
