Water Quality
The City of Newport Beach Utilities Department is responsible for providing its customers with a reliable, safe, clean, potable and domestic water supply. Newport Beach’s drinking water is safe for drinking. It meets or exceeds all Federal and California water quality standards, which are the most stringent standards of any state in the nation. Our highly trained water quality staff continuously monitors the City’s water supply and conducts more than 1,500 tests each year on potable water drawn from different sampling points along our distribution system. The City has been supplying our community’s water from more than a century and continuing to deliver safe drinking water is our highest priority.
If you have any questions about our drinking water, please contact the City’s Utilities Department at 949-644-3011. Our staff would welcome the opportunity to discuss water quality with you. They can also offer you the most detailed information on the current status of our City’s potable water supply and provide you with information. Also for any questions regarding water quality concerns (taste, odor, color), please call 949-644-3011 and ask to speak with a Water System Services representative.
In accordance with the State Water Resources Control Board, the City publishes an annual consumer confidence report regarding the quality of its water.
