The City has several parking permit programs to accommodate the needs of residents and visitors. The most popular of which are the Annual Permit that allows parking at many parking spaces and paid lots, and the Master Parking Permit, which allows parking at almost any location in the City without payment. To purchase a parking permit please visit nb.getapermit.net or you may visit the Revenue Customer Service office located at 100 Civic Center Drive.

Master Parking Permit - A Master Parking Permit entitles a motor vehicle to occupy a SINGLE parking space in any City owned parking area or any municipal parking lot, if space is available, within Newport Beach without paying a parking fee. This permit is available to residents, businesses, and visitors.
Annual Parking Permit (Blue Pole Permit) - An Annual Parking Permit entitles a motor vehicle to occupy a SINGLE parking space in designated areas of Newport Beach, without paying a parking fee at certain municipal lots, or paid spaces that display a painted “A” symbol at foot of parking space. This permit is NOT valid in a parking lot space without an "A" symbol or when a posted sign states: “NO ANNUAL PERMIT.” This permit is available to residents, businesses, and visitors.
Balboa Municipal Lot Overnight Parking Permit - The Balboa Municipal Lot Overnight Parking Permit entitles a motor vehicle to occupy a SINGLE parking space in the Balboa Pier Municipal Lot, during the day and/or overnight, without paying a parking fee. Overnight parking is defined as being between the hours of 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. This permit is available to residents, businesses, and visitors.
Balboa Village Patron/Resident Parking Permit - Two Hours Free Parking - A Balboa Village Patron/Resident Parking Permit entitles a qualified and registered motor vehicle to occupy a single public parking space located within the Balboa Village Area Benefit District only during designated times, if space is available, without payment of parking fees for up to two hours. This permit is available to residents of Newport Beach only.
Balboa Village Employee/Business Parking Permit - A Balboa Village Employee/Business Parking Permit entitles a qualified and registered motor vehicle to occupy a single public parking space located in designated parking areas within Balboa Village Area Benefit District only during designated times, if space is available, without payment of parking fees. This permit is available to businesses and employees located in the Balboa Village Area Benefit District only.
Residential Zone 1 - Newport Island Parking Permit - A Residential Zone 1 Parking Permit entitles a motor vehicle to occupy a single parking space in Residential Zone 1 - Newport Island, if space is available. No parking shall be permitted on Newport Island public streets between May 15 and September 15 of each year except by vehicles displaying this permit. This permit is available to Newport Beach residents who reside in Zone 1 only.
Residential Zone 2 - Newport Heights - Newport Harbor HS Parking Permit - A Residential Zone 2 Parking Permit entitles a motor vehicle to occupy a single parking space in Residential Zone 2 - Newport Heights in excess of two hours, if space is available. Parking is restricted to a two-hour limit on signed streets in the Newport Heights area, on school days from September through June of each school year, except by vehicles displaying this permit. On Margaret Drive, parking is restricted to one hour from 8:00am to 6:00pm every day except federal holidays, except by vehicles displaying this permit. This permit is available to Newport Beach residents who reside in Zone 2 only. 2023/2024 permits are on sale now. Please purchase online at nb.getapermit.net
Residential Zone 3 - Eastbluff - Corona del Mar HS Parking Permit - A Residential Zone 3 Parking Permit entitles a motor vehicle to occupy a single parking space in Residential Zone 3 - Eastbluff in excess of one hour, if space is available. Parking is restricted to a one-hour limit on signed streets in the Eastbluff area, on school days from September through June of each school year, except by vehicles displaying this permit. This permit is available to Newport Beach residents who reside in Zone 3 only. 2023/2024 permits on sale now. Please purchase online at nb.getapermit.net

As a material term in exchange for renting parking space, you agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless the City of Newport Beach, its officials, officers, agents, representatives, volunteers, employees, contractors, commissions, committees, foundations, and other such persons or bodies (“Released Parties”) from any and all liability for claims, demands, causes of action, damages, judgments, costs or expenses, including but not limited to attorneys’ fees and costs, that are caused by, arise out of, in connection with, or result from your rent of parking space, except to the extent of the Released Parties’ gross negligence or willful misconduct.
