How can I pay my parking citation?

Parking citation payments are due 21 days from the date of issuance. Fines not paid within the 21 days are subject to a late fee and prohibit the contesting of a citation.

Please click www.pticket.com/nb for parking citation online services that include: parking citation information, the ability to appeal, to apply for a payment plan, and to pay your parking citation by credit card.  

Payments can be mailed in with the envelope provided with the citation. If you do not have an envelope you can mail payment to City of Newport Beach P.O. Box 3599 Tustin, CA. 92781-3599. Please enclose notice with your payment. If you do not have the notice, indicate the citation number or vehicle plate number on the front of your payment. When paying for more than one violation or citation combine the amounts shown to issue one payment. Making payment by mail requires no further action. Receipts are not issued for mail payments.

Payments can be made in person at the Civic Center located at 100 Civic Center Dr - Bay A during regular business hours.
For your convenience, if paying for your citation in person, the City accepts VISA, MasterCard or American Express in addition to check or cash payments. A receipt can be issued when a payment is made.

What do I have to do to receive a refund of an over-payment?

Print the Parking Citation Over-payment Refund Request (Adobe Acrobat is required) form, fill it out, and return by mail, email or fax. Staff will review your request and contact you if we need additional documentation. You will be asked to show proof of both payments. Submit a copy of the front and back of the cancelled check/money order, copy of a credit card statement, or a copy of the receipt for both payments. Once your over-payment has been verified, a check will be processed and mailed to you within 30 days. Over-payments may occur when an individual pays a citation after the due date and then pays a second time after receiving a balance due notice. Additionally, our customers make payments to parking citations in person, by mail, by Internet, to one of two collection agencies, to the Department of Motor Vehicles, to their rental car agency and leasing company, to one of two police impound yards and to the Franchise Tax Board. Managing these multiple payment methods can be confusing and customers just trying to be good citizens by taking care of their parking citations, can mistakenly pay more than owed.
