Explorer Academy Book 7, The Forbidden Island by Trudi Truiet, is the thrilling conclusion to the amazing series, and the end of Cruz’s school year. After finding the previous pieces of the cipher and finding out that the 7th piece that Cruz poses is fake, the team is struggling to find out how to recover from the loss. With Jaguar, the explorer spy still on the loose, who knows which explorers you can still trust onboard the Orion. Cruz and Emmet have hatched a plan to try and recreate the 7th piece of the cipher, but it didn’t fool his mom’s journal! Luckily for them, Jaguar decides to help out and hide the real piece on the Orion. After Cruz finds the 7th piece he asks the journal for the next clue. Along the way to the assumed location of, someone figures out the actual clue. Unbeknownst to the team this action fooled Nebula and made them mad. At the final piece’s location a special guest appears trying to get in the way but thanks to the help of a friend Cruz gets the final piece! As his mom’s journal gives him the final clue to where you need to drop off the cipher, the reception goes bad and the journal finishes playing- and disappears. But before this happens and between these two events, the explorers go on their second to last mission at the edges of the earth. Team Cousteau and all of the other teams made an amazing discovery on that mission which helped insure the safety of a species.Going back to the part where the journal disappears and the team deciding what to do next,Cruz, Sailor, Emmett, and Lani try to figure out where they need to go next using postcards that some mysterious people sent him from around the world. However they have their final mission of the year to complete before the team can continue on with their quest. The explorer’s final mission for this year is to dig up fossils, but there’s a twist… and Bryndis and Cruz have to switch teams together! Despite this setback, Cruz successfully managed to navigate the challenge and with the help of his new teammates, he even discovered something wonderful. Proceeding the final mission, Emmett, Lani, and Sailor finally figured out where the location of the scientist is. The next part is for you to read! The ending is just so good that I can’t give it away…

This book and its series  are underrated and deserve as much attention as the Harry Potter book series. Trudi Truiet and National Geographic put together a stunning masterpiece piece for readers between the ages of 9-13. When I first started reading the series, I was so captivated by it that I couldn’t wait until the next book came out! Now, after reading the final book I wish that Explorer Academy actually existed! (It would be awesome if it did, I mean imagine getting to travel around the world by boat for school!!!). I strongly urge any young readers looking for an adventure in reading to try starting this series. Wishing everyone who reads this an enjoyable time reading a book that you like.
