On Sunday April 16, 2023 at approximately 3:54 p.m., the Newport Beach Police Department communications center received a 911 call reporting a traffic collision involving a vehicle and scooter on Newport Blvd. north of 32nd St.
Newport Beach police officers arrived on scene rendered aid to the solo adult male occupant of the scooter. Newport Beach Fire Department Paramedics transported the male to a local area hospital. The subject sustained significant injuries and is currently receiving treatment.
The driver and passenger of the involved vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The Newport Beach Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause and facts surrounding the collision.
