Earthquake Awareness Workshop
CERT Quarterly "All Hands" meeting
In conjunction with National Preparedness month, the City of Newport Beach will host an Earthquake Awareness Workshop on Wednesday, September 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Newport Beach Central Library Friends Room. The workshop is part of the Newport Beach Fire Department's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program's quarterly "All Hands" meetings. The workshop is free of charge and open to all Orange County residents. The keynote presenter for the workshop is Jason Ballman, Communications Manager for the Southern California Earthquake Center at USC (SCES.org). Mr. Ballman will present on the earthquake threat to southern California and on the effort to engage Californians on earthquake preparedness and mitigation.
