Lisa Fu: Watercolors
March 7 - May 6, 2022, Central Library
An appreciation for the beauty in nature and life defines Lisa Fu’s watercolor paintings: an emphasis on sunlit ocean views, blooming flowers and changing seasons, charming villages in Provence and lush vineyards. During her stay in Paris in the 1990s, Ms. Fu’s interest in the world of art was inspired by the world of French Impressionists and Fauvists, such as Henry Matisse. Studying the technique of impressionist painting techniques, Ms. Fu is a self-taught artist who has established her own style of impressionism to capture the beauty of nature with a focus on shapes of light and color using loose and fresh brushstrokes. Ms. Fu’s watercolor paintings will be on display at the Central Library from March 7 until May 6, 2022.
