The Courage to Remember: The Holocaust 1933-1945

Exhibit Opening Ceremony at Central Library, July 8

Newport Beach Public Library will host "The Courage to Remember," a traveling exhibit, produced by the Museum of Tolerance, the educational arm of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, from July 8 through July 29 on the upper level of the Central Library.

As part of the opening ceremony on July 8, there will be a special presentation by Jack Pariser, an 84-year-old Laguna Beach resident and Holocaust survivor. Pariser escaped from a Polish jail at age 13 and hid with his parents and his older sister to survive the Nazi slaughter of his village in 1942.

The traveling exhibit, which features over 200 compelling photographs, offers unique insight into the Holocaust. The 40-panel visual narrative traces the history of events in four distinct themes: Nazi Germany, 1933-1938; Moving Toward the "Final Solution," 1939-1941; Annihilation in Nazi-occupied Europe, 1941-1945; and Liberation, Building New Lives.
