The community is invited to learn more about the proposed West Newport Community Center and offer input on its potential location and amenities. The community workshop is being held on Monday, May 12 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the old City Council Chambers located at 3300 Newport Boulevard (old City Hall).
Two potential sites have been identified and we want to hear what you think about them. The first site is at the end of 16th Street, at the westerly end of our current City Utilities Yard. The second possible site is at the corner of Superior Avenue and Coast Highway.
We also want your thoughts on what programs and activities should be offered in the new community center. A workout room? Gymnasium for basketball and other indoor sports? Should we offer dance or yoga classes? What can we do to help meet the recreational needs of our community?

Staff will compile the collected community input and suggestions to present to the City Council at a meeting in late May or early June.
